Lip Filler

Beautiful lips play a significant role in facial aesthetics. Plump and well-defined lips contribute to a younger and more attractive appearance of the face. Over time, due to aging, lips tend to lose their volume, defined edges, and alluring appearance. For some individuals, lips may naturally possess a thinner appearance. Lip fillers are administered to augment thin lips, accentuate lip borders, and establish an aesthetic balance between the lips.

Lip fillers can address the following issues:

  • Thinning and flattening of the lips due to volume loss.
  • Loss of lip border definition.
  • Downward sagging of the lip edges leading to a sad facial expression.
  • Smile asymmetry.

Before the lip filler procedure, the area is numbed either by applying a cream or by injecting an anesthetic agent. The region is then cleaned with an antiseptic solution. The procedure involves using sharp-pointed needles or blunt-ended cannulas to introduce the filler and enhance lip volume.
The filler application is a procedure that, combined with the numbing process, takes approximately 30 minutes. After the treatment, individuals can immediately resume their daily activities. Since local anesthesia is administered to the area to be treated before the procedure, there is little to no pain.
Hyaluronic acid, commonly used for lip fillers, lasts for about one year. However, this duration can vary based on an individual's lifestyle, facial expression habits, environmental conditions, and the properties of the filler material. It has been observed that for individuals who regularly get lip fillers, the longevity of the filler tends to increase.
