Hand Filler (Hand Rejuvenation)

One of the first body areas where signs of aging are noticed is the hands. Over time, due to the decrease in skin quality on the hands and the melting of subcutaneous fat tissue, signs of aging emerge. Harmful effects of sunlight, physical traumas, and contact with chemical substances accelerate the formation of aging signs on the back of the hands.

As the subcutaneous fat tissue in the hands diminishes, the elasticity of the hand's skin decreases, wrinkles increase, and the veins, tendons, and bones on the hand become more prominent. Hand fillers increase the soft tissue volume on the back of the hands. As a result, the prominence of the veins, tendons, and bones that make the hands look older diminishes, giving the back of the hand a younger appearance. Before the procedure, photographs of the hands are taken. The areas where the veins, tendons, and bones on the back of the hand are most prominent are identified. Local anesthesia is administered using very fine needles. Then, using a cannula, the filler is applied to areas on the back of the hand where there's significant volume loss.

Since the hand filler is applied using a cannula, the risk of bleeding and bruising is very low. Immediate results are obtained after the filler application. The unsettling appearance of veins, tendons, and bones on the back of the hand disappears. For hand rejuvenation, fillers containing hyaluronic acid, polycaprolactone, or calcium hydroxyapatite are most commonly used. Fillers containing calcium hydroxyapatite are both longer-lasting and have a longer duration of effect. The hand filler procedure is completed within approximately 20 minutes. The procedure is done in a single session. Control examinations are usually done 15-20 days later. Hand fillers generally last for 2 years. The permanence of the application varies according to the type, quality, and amount of filler used.
